If Jesus were not God, how do you account for the unprecedented spread of Christianity throughout the world in a relatively short amount of time with all oppressors present?

How about the voluntary martyrdom of numerous witnesses to the resurrection? If they didn't see it with their own eyes, they would know it was a lie and would not have given their lives up for Him.
