Despite what many Christians think, our concept of our origin does greatly impact our view on Christianity and everything else. 

For example, evolution is used to judge the genesis account (which affects Exodus and many other things).  

Also, it is evident in how often scientists cite evolution to explain a certain phenomenon of the human race and other species, like how the brain works, or why humans need communication, etc.

And it's evident how people in general like to use evolution to explain everything, like why we have many languages, or why marriages are good, or why they get back pain.
