< STRONG Yes. It's actually immensely intelligent and the concept is very necessary to establish true genuine meaning in everything that we do on earth. 

Without heaven or eternity, all our actions on earth are worthless if the human race ceases to exist or if the earth blows up causing an end to the pass-down effect of the human race. 

To bring out the point, keep in mind we will be using the concept that "it is as if it never happened if we ultimately forget a civilization, era, event, etc."
This concept proves the need for the everlasting effect/memory of an event in order for it to be worthwhile and meaningful. Again, without the everlasting effect, it would be as if it never happened once it is forgotten, since there is nothing to show that it existed/happened. There would be no proof of such ever happening.

Now, assume it's true that there is nonexistence after death AND there is nonexistence of God. ¹ In other words, there is no heaven and no God to make all your actions worthwhile. 

Therefore, if earth were to blow up, then anything we have done, good or evil, is meaningless, because nothing carries on to the future, and hence it is as if nothing were ever done.

¹ assuming nonexistence after death may work by itself for this argument, but it becomes harder to void meaning if God existed even if people cease to exist after death. Ex: God may bless the dead people's children if the people do good things in their life time. So after they die and cease to exist, all their descendants can be continually be blessed forever.

then we don't need Heaven or God to establish meaning in our actions. All our actions will always be remembered in history books and remembered physically forever.
