>> WEAK Anything without being head of men.

The book of Corinthians says the head of woman is man.

Please click here for details.

< What about Miriam?

Being a prophetess is a big headship over man!

>> Miriam was a prophetess, and her congregation was mostly, if not all, females.

Ex 15:20: Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and dancing.

< STRONG But Deborah was a judge!

That automatically implies headship over men!

>> So then if Paul is incorrect about men having headship, then the Bible is not inerrant.

Therefore, the Bible isn't reliable.

< STRONG If Paul were incorrect, that shouldn't invalidate everything the Bible as a whole teaches.

Please click here for details.

>> What about Genesis saying women should submit to men?

< STRONG That's only regarding marriage, and this is only before the NT.

Gal 3:28: There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

So when Jesus died on the cross, there was no more difference between men and women but all is one in Christ.

< Pastors/preachers.

>> There weren't any scriptures that had women as preachers in the NT.

< STRONG Prophets

Ex 15:20: Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and dancing. (GNB)

Even the book of Joel, cited in Acts, said that females would prophesy.

Joel 2:28:  And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.
Joel 2:29:  Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.

>> WEAK True, but so long as they didn't have offices of evangelism over men.

Please click here for details.

< Judges. Deborah was a judge/prophet/leader in Israel over men.

Please click here for details.

< Evangelists. Women did indeed evangelize.

If Jesus commanded all to evangelize, then women should be able to evangelize.

Please click here and here for details.

>> WEAK True, but so long as they didn't have offices of evangelism over men.

Please click here for details.

< STRONG Introducing offices of evangelism complicates matters.

Jesus never introduced such difficulty, but man did. So even if there were offices of evangelism, let the women have them since Jesus never made things this complicated.

< Leadership. If women were prophets or judges, then they can be leaders in general.

Though men are preferred leaders... if they die, or if women are up for it, they can be leaders too.
