< STRONG Simple, Jesus said this in conjunction with the Resurrection which serves as a bridge to everlasting life. (Biblical)

All people will die, even Jesus died, but that’s what makes the Resurrection so important. We must die before we get resurrected and the Bible affirms this.

Luke 20:35  But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage,

< STRONG The Everlasting life He refers to is eternal life with Him.

1 John 5:11 And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Matt 25:46 And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

2 Cor 5:1 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Rev 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

He came so we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). That's the difference between eternal life for a believer and nonbeliever. The nonbeliever will also live forever, but not abundantly or as it was intended for him- he will spend it in hell, separated from the manifested presence of God (Mark 3:29).
