< STRONG A lot.
Here are a few reasons why Jesus' resurrection is significant:
- About 50% of the prophesies are on Jesus' resurrection. The prophet Isaiah talked about it, and Jesus talked about it.
- A lot of what Jesus teaches relies on his resurrection
- The resurrection of Jesus allows people to be raised to eternal life
- Proves Jesus' deity
- Was the end of the sacrifical system
- Jesus' blood on the cross atones for our sins, enabling us to have relationship with God the Father
- By his wounds, we are healed
- Set us free from the law of sin and death
- Satan and death were defeated
>> It doesn't prove Jesus' deity because other people have been resurrected from the dead.
< STRONG True, but Jesus was the only one to be resurrected- never to die again.
>> Nothing. It's just a fairy tale.
The resurrection is just a lie to make Christians feel good.
< Really, then what about all those early Christians who died?
Why would they give their lives for something they knew to be a lie?
